Searching for Missing Loved One
If a loved one is missing, call 9-1-1.
The local law enforcement authorities have jurisdiction over missing persons.
High Desert Search Dogs does not respond independently to missing persons
reports. In Oregon, all SAR activities are under the jurisdiction of the local
Sheriff department.
High Desert Search Dogs does have certified canine-handler teams available
under mutual aid. Currently, all certified dogs in HDSD are deployed at the
discretion the Crook County Sheriff Department. A request for a certified dog
team must come through Crook County Sheriff's department to activate our
services.
